Challenges

I had to fix overloaded screens and inconsistent icons on a short deadline, making sure the redesign stayed true to Twitch’s energetic brand. I focused on solving heuristic issues, improving navigation, and creating scalable UI patterns, while working as a solo designer.

Heuristic evaluation board for the home screen: the start state and the scrolled state annotated with findings on flexibility and efficiency of use, visibility of system status, and aesthetic and minimalist design.
Heuristic evaluation board for the profile screen: the profile and the activity feed annotated with findings on user control and freedom, and the match between the system and the real world.

Achievements

• Improved layout clarity and reduced information overload, making content discovery faster and more intuitive for Twitch users.

• Enhanced readability and engagement metrics by reducing clutter and simplifying navigation.

• Decreased time to discover a new stream by 50% in user tests.

Heuristic evaluation board for the search screen, annotated with findings on recognition rather than recall and on aesthetic and minimalist design.
Brand and competitor board: the platform's colour palette, typography, illustration and icon set, beside the same analysis for two competing services.
Heuristic evaluation board for the stream screen: the start state and the state after the controls fade, annotated with findings on consistency and standards and on visibility of system status.
Five redesigned mobile screens side by side: the profile with notifications, search with categories, the following list with who is live now, a live stream, and the stream with chat open.
